Quotra (“we,” “our,” or “us”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how information is handled when you use the Quotra mobile application for iOS (the “App”).
1. Information We Collect
Content and preferences you create. Quotra is designed so your reading experience stays on your device. Topics you follow, quote preferences, favorites, widget styles, language choice, and reminder settings are stored locally on your device using Apple’s on-device storage (including App Group storage shared with the Quotra widget extension). We do not operate servers that collect or store your quotes, favorites, or personal profile.
Purchase information. If you subscribe to Quotra Premium, the transaction is processed by Apple through StoreKit. We receive confirmation that a purchase or restore succeeded so Premium features can unlock on your device. We do not receive your payment card details.
Advertising data. If you use the free version of the App, we may show ads through Google AdMob. AdMob and its partners may collect device identifiers (such as Apple’s Identifier for Advertisers where permitted), IP address, app interaction data, and diagnostic data to deliver and measure ads. You can learn more in Google’s Privacy Policy. Quotra Premium removes ads.
Analytics. We may rely on anonymous, aggregated analytics provided by Apple (such as App Store Connect analytics and crash reports) to improve stability and performance. This data does not include the favorites or widget styles you create in the App.
2. How We Use Information
- To provide core App features (quotes, topics, favorites, widgets, and reminders on your device).
- To deliver and measure advertising in the free version, unless you subscribe to Premium.
- To process and restore in-app subscriptions through Apple.
- To send local notifications you enable for daily quote reminders.
- To maintain, secure, and improve the App.
3. Data Sharing
We do not sell your quotes, favorites, or preferences. Information may be processed by service providers that help us operate the App, including:
- Apple — App distribution, in-app purchases, optional device backup, and widgets.
- Google AdMob — advertising in the free version of the App.
These providers process data under their own privacy policies and applicable law.
4. Widgets and App Group Storage
To show quotes on your Home Screen, Quotra shares a small on-device snapshot (the current quote and your widget style, including optional photos you add) with its widget extension through Apple’s App Group container. This sharing happens entirely on your device.
5. Data Retention
App data remains on your device until you delete it or remove the App. If you use iCloud backup, Apple may include App data in your encrypted device backup according to your Apple ID settings.
6. Your Choices
- You can change topics, favorites, widget styles, and language at any time inside the App.
- You can disable notifications in the App or in iOS Settings.
- You can limit ad tracking in iOS Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking.
- You can subscribe to Quotra Premium to remove advertising.
- Deleting the App removes the local data it created on that device.
7. Children’s Privacy
Quotra is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, please contact us so we can take appropriate steps.
8. International Users
The App is available globally. By using Quotra, you understand that advertising partners such as Google may process data in countries other than your own, in accordance with their policies and applicable law.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top will reflect the latest version. Material changes may also be communicated inside the App.
